Enlightening Escapes is a UK-based events and retreat business creating relaxed, small-group experiences designed to bring people together in a meaningful way.
Founded by three women with backgrounds in media, communications and healthcare, we create escapes that feel personal, welcoming and unforced — with just enough structure to feel purposeful, and plenty of space to breathe.
An escape isn’t about switching off from real life entirely. It’s about stepping away from the noise for long enough to reset — and enjoying an experience that feels calm, well-designed and genuinely worth your time.
Enlightening Escapes was founded by Lauren Roberts, Janet Shreeve and Fiona Scott — combining decades of experience across storytelling, strategy and people-first work.
Media Consultant & Creative Entrepreneur
Lauren began her career in corporate finance before moving into media consultancy and creative work. Her blend of structure and creativity helps each escape feel organised, welcoming and easy to settle into.
She focuses on the flow of the experience, ensuring events feel personal rather than overproduced.
Healthcare & Social Care Consultant
Janet brings over 20 years of experience in the UK healthcare and social care sector. As Director of Shreeve Care Services and host of the You Care, I Care podcast, she is known for her person-centred approach.
Within Enlightening Escapes, Janet ensures every experience is inclusive, supportive and grounded in genuine care.
Media Expert & Award-Winning TV Producer
Fiona brings over 37 years of experience across television, journalism and public relations. Recently named among the Top Five PR advisers for SMEs in the UK, she’s known for her direct approach and sharp editorial eye.
Within Enlightening Escapes, Fiona shapes experiences with clarity, credibility and authentic storytelling.
Every Enlightening Escape is intentionally small, carefully planned and people-first. Whether it’s a one-off evening or a multi-day retreat, the aim is always the same: to create space for connection, creativity and calm — and to leave feeling better than when you arrived.
