Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all events, retreats and experiences organised by Enlightening Escapes. By booking a place on any Enlightening Escape, you agree to the terms outlined below.

  1. Bookings & Payment

All bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once payment (or the first instalment, where applicable) has been received.

Where an instalment plan is offered, this is provided as a payment option only. By selecting an instalment plan, you are committing to the full cost of the event, and all scheduled payments must be completed in full.

Failure to complete instalment payments may result in the cancellation of your place, with any payments already made remaining non-refundable.

  1. Refunds & Cancellations

All bookings for Enlightening Escapes are non-refundable. This is due to the substantial upfront costs involved in planning and delivering each escape, including (but not limited to) venue hire, accommodation, expert hosts and third-party suppliers.

If you choose to pay by instalments, the booking remains non-refundable and all payments remain due, regardless of attendance.

The only circumstance in which a refund will be issued is if Enlightening Escapes is required to cancel the event. In this instance, a full refund of all amounts paid will be provided.

Enlightening Escapes cannot accept responsibility for any additional costs incurred by attendees, including travel, accommodation outside the event package, or personal expenses.

  1. Transfers & Name Changes

If you are unable to attend an event, you may gift or privately resell your place to another person.

This must be arranged directly by you, and Enlightening Escapes must be notified in advance with the full name and contact details of the replacement attendee. We reserve the right to refuse a transfer if the event is not suitable for the replacement attendee (for example, due to capacity, content or safeguarding considerations).

Any transfers must be completed no later than 7 days before the event start date, unless otherwise agreed.

  1. Event Changes

While we aim to deliver each escape exactly as advertised, Enlightening Escapes reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the programme, schedule, speakers, facilitators, venue or content where necessary.

Any changes will be communicated as soon as reasonably possible and will not entitle attendees to a refund.

  1. Force Majeure

Enlightening Escapes will not be held liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, extreme weather, fire, flood, acts of God, pandemics, government restrictions, venue closures, illness or injury of key personnel, or supplier failure.

In such circumstances, we reserve the right to postpone, reschedule or cancel the event. Where an event is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be issued.

  1. Attendee Behaviour

All attendees are expected to behave respectfully towards other guests, hosts, facilitators and venue staff.

Enlightening Escapes reserves the right to remove any attendee whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe or inappropriate, without refund.

  1. Health, Safety, Travel Fitness & Accessibility

Attendees are responsible for ensuring they are physically, medically and mentally able to travel to and participate in the event they have booked.

For any escapes taking place outside the UK, attendees are responsible for ensuring they hold a valid passport, any required visas, and meet all relevant entry requirements for the destination country.

Enlightening Escapes does not provide medical advice. By booking, you confirm that you have considered any health, medical or personal circumstances (including pregnancy, existing medical conditions or mobility considerations) that may affect your ability to attend or participate fully.

We strongly recommend that attendees arrange appropriate travel insurance for international escapes, including cover for cancellation, medical expenses and personal belongings.

Please notify Enlightening Escapes in advance of any accessibility requirements, medical conditions, allergies or dietary needs. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, we cannot guarantee all requirements can be met.

  1. Photography & Media

Photographs and video may be taken during Enlightening Escapes events for marketing, promotional and documentation purposes.

By attending, you consent to being photographed or filmed. If you do not wish to appear in any imagery, please notify a member of the team on arrival.

  1. Travel & What Is Included

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, flights are not included in any Enlightening Escapes events or retreats taking place outside the UK.

It is the responsibility of each attendee to carefully check the event description at the time of booking to understand exactly what is included in their escape. This may vary between events and could include accommodation, meals, activities, workshops or experiences, as clearly outlined on the booking page.

Any costs not specifically listed as included — including flights, transfers, travel insurance, visas, or personal expenses — are the responsibility of the attendee.

  1. Liability

Enlightening Escapes accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or injury to personal belongings during events, except where required by law.

Attendance is at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own safety and wellbeing throughout the event.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

All escapes are subject to a minimum number of bookings. In the event that an escape does not reach minimum numbers, attendees will be notified and offered a full refund.

If you have any questions about these Terms & Conditions, please contact us at hello@enlighteningescapes.co.uk.
